This allows you to wake up at the selected time in the rare event that your power should stay out past the alarm cycle time. Battery should be replaced at least once a year to avoid damage due to battery leakage.

The built-in light doesn’t wake me up, what can I do?

The alarm does not work or the security feature does not work.

The Sun Alarm is designed to simulate a sunrise. The Sunrise light cycle begins prior to the set alarm time.
For example, with a 30 minute Sunrise, the light will start 30 minutes before your alarm time. If you set your alarm time at 7am, the light will start at 6:30am. As the light starts off very low, it will take a few minutes for you to see the light.
If you are testing the Sun Alarm with a 30 minute sunrise, please keep in mind that the alarm set time must be more than 30 minutes after the clock time. eg: set the clock time to 7am and set the alarm time to 7:35 am. In 5 minutes you will see the alarm button start blinking, and then you will see the sunrise begin within several minutes.
