What is a Sound Conditioner?

The word "conditioner" associated to a device is rarely associated to sound other than music, because when it comes to noise many people may ask, how can someone gain control over a noisy environment?

Moreover, here is where sound conditioners take place. A sound conditioner is simply a mechanical, computerized, or electronic device that generates noise, but opposite to the unwanted or unpleasant sound that surrounds us, the sound conditioner is based on white noise, which is the full spectrum of sound pitches that the human hear can perceive.

Although, sound conditioners can also play a variety of pre-defined sound patterns to create a soothing sleep or relaxing environment, they are commonly referred to as white noise machines and this term is often interchangeable for sound conditioners. Thus, a sound conditioner is not a noise machine, but a device that filters and masks those irritating sounds in each one's environment.

Because the nature and source of noise is different for every person, whether it is all about snoring, noisy neighbors, traffic in the street, etc., a sound conditioner can effectively make any environment a more pleasant place as the range of the noise frequencies generated block the unwanted or sound that distracts the mind, prevents a pleasant sleep, and overall wellness.

Opposite to the noise that may disturb you, taking home a sound conditioner will immediately release a non-intrusive noise that usually evokes sounds of nature, mostly those coming from water sources that can be the ocean, rain, water springs, or other natural sounds like the wind, although more advanced sound conditioners can include animal sounds and other artificial sound recording with the purpose of sound masking, such as the popular vacuum cleaner white noise that is included in many white noise machines designed for babies.

In some places, sound conditioners are playing "backstage" to provide people with a calm sensation that otherwise would not be possible without these devices. An example of sound conditioner's application is hospitals, doctors offices, and other public spaces where chaotic conditions require of a sound aid to mask all that noise of such places, or simply because are places were a quiet sensation is necessary for any given reason.

Sound pollution is a condition that not only occurs in open spaces, but also inside our homes. If your partner's snoring does not let you sleep, a sound conditioner can be the solution instead of divorcing, as it can also prevent your baby waking up every time a dog is barking or your annoying neighbors are drilling the walls because these machines are expressly designed to filter out such annoyances.

If you are afraid to take home a new source of noise that snaps your nerves and those of your family, rest assured because the volume of sound conditioners can be adjusted according to your needs, being advisable to start with the lower position, later you will no longer notice it.
